RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Elon Musk told Saudi investors he pitched President Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on tens of millions of “humanoid robots” and autonomous cars during his conversation with the two leaders on Tuesday.
“We just showed several of our Tesla Optimus robots to His Highness and President Trump, and I think they were very impressed. In fact, one of our robots did the Trump dance, which they thought was pretty cool,” Musk said.
“We’re headed to a radically different world.”
The world’s richest man, 53, was spotted speaking with Trump and MbS at an investment lunch earlier in the afternoon in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom, shaking their hands and smiling.
“I think everyone will have a personal robot,” Musk predicted about the future of technology, comparing it to R2-D2 from “Star Wars.”
Musk had shared a video of the robot dancing the day before on X.
The Department of Government Efficiency founder, who has recently stepped back slightly from his government duties, has been pushing the Tesla robots for months, touting the improved software of the robots.
“The rate of improvement is indeed rapid. There will be a legion of Optimus robots this year,” Musk wrote on X in April.
The technological improvements of robots will upend the economy in terms of taking over jobs, Musk has predicted in the past.
“Robots will surpass good human surgeons within a few years and the best human surgeons within ~5 years,” he wrote in an X post last month.
Musk also told the world leaders about building autonomous cars and the latest developments of his Boring Company, which has developed a method of tunneling without human presence.
