Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X and S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch, publisher Atlus has confirmed.
Revealed during a stream following the Nintendo Direct reveal, Atlus quelled fan concern that the complete edition would only come to Switch as the original did. "Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance will be released on multiple platforms on June 21, 2024," it said plainly, alongside a screen showing each platform.
The stream confirmed lots of other details too, including that complete save files cannot be transferred over to Vengeance given the stories and contents vary significantly to the original. Players can bring forward three demons from their compendium, however.
Changes include improved gameplay systems and quality of life features, more than 40 new demons being available, and significantly different story beats in one of the two story modes playable in Vengeance. Atlus estimated each route takes around 80 hours each, meaning Vengeance offers around 160 hours of gameplay for those looking to explore both.
"Forge your path through a post-apocalyptic world in this definitive version of Shin Megami Tensei 5," the official announcement said. "Two complete story paths await, including a brand new storyline with new locations and demons, and where your choices will determine the fate of all existence."
Vengeance had been rumoured for months but emerged again a few days ahead of its official announcement when the South Korean ratings board listed the game online.
