Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 publisher Focus Entertainment has revealed Siege, the final name for the hotly anticipated Horde mode coming to the explosive third-person action shooter as part of Patch 8.
At the Warhammer Skulls 2025 showcase, Focus and developer Saber revealed the teaser for the free Siege update, which brings an endless new PvE game mode alongside two new cosmetic DLCs for season pass owners on June 26.
Here’s the official blurb:
Fight against impossible odds in Space Marine 2’s upcoming Siege Mode, a new PvE experience available for free to all players on June 26. Set on Kadaku, this new 3-player game mode lets you take down ever deadlier waves of Tyranid and Chaos enemies in the defense of an Imperial Fortress. Prepare to hold your ground and stay alive as long as you can facing endless waves of enemies, as only in Death does duty end.
IGN has confirmed, via an exclusive interview with Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer at developer Saber Interactive, that the Dreadnought shown in the trailer is a part of Siege gameplay. It is Brother Valtus, the mighty Redemptor Dreadnought from the Ultramarines 2nd Company. Players won’t be able to pilot it, but they’ll be able to call him as reinforcement throughout their Siege Mode games. Check out our Space Marine 2 interview with Tim in full for much more.
Siege mode will be playable on the PC-only Public Test Server starting June 4.
Patch 8 also brings with it two new DLCs for Ultra Edition, Gold Edition, and Season Pass holders: the White Scars Chapter Pack (a new Champion skin for the Assault class, three exclusive White Scars-inspired weapon skins for the Occulus Bolt Carbine, Stalker Bolt Rifle, and Combat Knife, and a host of cosmetic options and heraldry markings for their Successor Chapters), and the Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack (a number of new armour pieces to be equipped on any of the game’s playable classes, in addition to heraldry markings celebrating eight of the Blood Angels’ Successor Chapters).
Earlier this week, IGN reported on various Space Marine 2 datamines that revealed potential upcoming content, including a new class, a new melee weapon, and a new ranged weapon.
There’s a lot happening in the world of Space Marine 2, despite the surprise announcement that development of Space Marine 3 development had begun. Space Marine 2’s year one roadmap remains in place.
