The June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase has come to a close after two hours of announcements for games like The Outer Worlds 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Final Fantasy, Super Meat Boy 3D, and more.
It was yet another jam-packed show under Microsoft’s belt that included highlights such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, more Final Fantasy on Xbox, Persona 4 Revival, Grounded 2, and much, much more. Although we didn’t see things like Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls 6 or what’s next for 343 Industries and the Halo franchise, today’s presentation still managed to fill 2025 and 2026 with exciting projects that still need a bit more time in the oven.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Officially Announced for PC and Consoles, Coming This Year
Microsoft's one-last-thing reveal for the Xbox Game Showcase 2025 was Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, another numbered entry in its popular alternate history Call of Duty storyline. A cinematic reveal trailer for Black Ops 7 mostly focused on callbacks to previous entries, but we'll have to wait to see how else it will change the game when it eventually launches.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Doubles Down on 2025 Launch

Hollow Knight: Silksong made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase during the reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally X. Shortly after the brief look at gameplay shown, Xbox President Sarah Bond shared that Team Cherry's long-awaited sequel will be playable on the handheld device and through Game Pass when the Ally X launches this holiday season. It's far from a release date, but now halfway through the year, the news is at least promising.
Phil Spencer Teases Forza, Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and Maybe Even Halo for 2026
As the Xbox Games Showcase winded down, Xbox boss Phil Spencer teased that players can expect some of the biggest Xbox franchises to launch in 2026. These include the new Fable, the Gears of War: E-Day prequel story, Forza, and "the return of a classic that's been with us since the beginning." Fans are already speculating about what that last title could be, but many are hoping it means a return to Halo.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Coming to Xbox This Winter, Final Fantasy 16 Out Today
Square Enix fans on Xbox have waited years to play some of the biggest Final Fantasy games on Xbox Series X | S, and for some, that wait ends today. Final Fantasy 16 is out now for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade set to arrive this winter.
Good News: Invincible VS Fighting Game Reveal 3v3 Combat for PC and Consoles
Invincible is getting a bloody 3v3 fighting game for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. In what Xbox called a "World F***ing Premiere," we got to see some gameplay for Invincible VS with playable characters that include Mark and Atom Eve.

A new story from the A Plague Tale universe is in development. Asobo Studio says its latest story, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, is set to come to PC and consoles sometime next year.
